Baptism
Baptism at Jenison Bible Church is a public demonstration that you believe in Jesus who rescued you from the sin that separated you from Him. Baptism is an outward picture of an inner transformation and it shows the church family you desire to follow Jesus and serve Him with your whole heart.
Baptism does not save you and is not a requirment for membership at Jenison Bible Church. We baptize by immersion which is a picture of the washing away of sin, your death and resurrection with Christ, and your public identification as a Christian.

Membership
Membership at Jenison Bible Church is identifying yourself with a local body of believers. It is committing to being part of this family and it shows your desire to grow your faith and serve in community.
Per our consuitution, the qualifications of members:

Persons who give testimony to their faith in Christ as Savior, who give assurance of their willingness to follow and submit themselves to the Word of God as the only rule of faith, doctrine, and praceice, and who indicate their agreement with the Constitution of this church shall be eligible for membership.

We believe that God creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, unchangeable genders together reflect the image and nature of God, and the rejection of one's biological gender is a rejection of the image of God within that person. No person who is currently practicing, or who believes that he or she is entitled to practice, any non-heterosexual forms of sexual expression, or any other sexual deviation as defined by the Bible may be a member of Jenison Bible Church. (Romans 1:26-27; Leviticus 18:6-23)
Active members who are 18 years or older are entitled to vote at congregational meetings. You must be a member to lead a committee / ministry team, hold a teaching position, or serve on the Council at Jenison Bible Church.

Next steps? If you are ready to join the Jenison Bible Church family, click the link below to complete a membership application. Then you will be scheduled to meet with a group of elders. Once you are approved, we schedule a date to publicly welcome you into membership during a Sunday service.
Communion
Sharing communion together is a remembrance of the Passover celebration when Jesus took ordinary elements of bread and wine and made them a sacred remembrance of his broken body and shed blood.
At Jenison Bible Church we observe the Communion every other month, usually on the first Sunday, and on special occasions like Good Friday and our Thanksgiving service.
We pass the bread and juice together. While the elements are being distributed, we encourage all to reflect on the impact of Christ's sacrifice for our sins and the sins of the world. Once everyone is served, we take the elements together.
All who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and are walking in fellowship with the Lord are welcome to join us in this remembrance.
